About
Some people spend years searching for something they may never find: an elusive animal, a lost treasure, an answer to a mystery that refuses to be solved. In What’s a Snow Leopard to You?, Chen-Fu Hsu traces a Taiwanese naturalist’s search for the snow leopard across Tibet, interwoven with the diary of a Japanese monk who witnessed the region’s transformation under Chinese rule. From natural history and political upheaval to adventure, obsession and discovery, Hsu asks what drives us to pursue the unknown, what compels our curiosity and where we find the hope to endure.
