A Musical Journey to the Middle East

From Syria to Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, Iraq, Turkey and Azerbaijan, you’ll experience a true taste of classical Middle Eastern music. Different styles, such as longa, samai and dances will be showcased while shedding light on the various maqams (Middle Eastern scales) and rhythms used in Middle Eastern music.
The upcoming TIFA debut of the orchestra will be under the artistic direction of Lamees Audeh, composer, co-founder, and music director of the Canadian Arabic Orchestra. Leading on the Oud is accomplished instructor and composer Manar Naeem, accompanied by the outstanding pianist Elliot Sarkis, and the distinguished percussionist, Kareem El-Tyeb.
