International man of words and bibliopile, Alberto Manguel takes the stage to explore his journey and evolution as a writer and his prolific career to date, including his recent dual-language collection of poems Death By Water.

A celebrated translator, writer, editor and reviewer, Manguel’s life has been linked to literature since he was 16 years old, working in a bookshop where he would later be asked by the blind Jorge Luis Borges to read aloud to him at his home. Discussing his collection, his novellas A Return and The Overdiscriminating Lover, writing in translation and more, this is a must-see for fans of translated literature.

Moderated by Gilbert Reid.

This event will be followed by a book signing.
