Thought Spirals

Karen Fastrup and Geoffrey D. Morrison

2:00pm

Sunday, October 1

Studio Theatre

60 mins

Authors Karen Fastrup and Geoffrey D. Morrison take readers on a journey through the complexities of the human brain in two novels about mental health, the power of language and the strange – sometimes frightening – collection of thoughts and memories that shape our identities.

In an intimate work of autofiction, Fastrup’s Hunger Heart details the author’s unexpected transition from successful writer and translator to patient in a psychiatric facility. Morrison’s Falling Hour follows the meanderings and thought spirals of a man convinced his brain is broken, punctuated by snippets of poetry, lyrics and birdsong.

In unmissable conversation, two writers speak frankly about the shadows of the human psyche, the challenges of recovery and the love that anchors us.

Moderated by Claire Battershill.

This event will be followed by a book signing.
