From picture books to pop songs, fables and folklore to literary masterpieces, stories have made up the fabric of our world from the earliest days of history. In his latest book, Storylines: How Words Shape Our World, scholar and Indigenous rights activist J. Edward Chamberlin explores the myriad ways that story brings us together and pushes us apart.

Equally able to provide comfort and create discomfort, to spark conversation and impart wisdom, the sociological effect of a story is remarkable. In conversation with Kyle Wyatt, editor of the Literary Review of Canada, Chamberlin reveals how stories have the power to shape the way we see the world, the way we govern ourselves and the way we relate to one another.

This event will be followed by a book signing.
