Coming Together, Falling Apart

Astra Taylor

8:00pm

Friday, September 29, 2023

Brigantine Room

60 mins

Author and activist Astra Taylor tackles one of the most complex issues of the present moment – how do we find security when the foundations of society are designed to work against us? Through a genre-defying mixture of memoir, philosophy, social critique and political analysis, Taylor attempts to answer this question for the 2023 Massey Lectures.

The Age of Insecurity: Coming Together as Things Fall Apart interrogates everything from home ownership and education to widespread decline in mental health and the impending climate crisis. In an urgently important conversation, Taylor sits down to discuss how we can embrace our vulnerability and find a way forward towards meaningful, sustainable change.

Moderated by Roland Gulliver.

This event will be followed by a book signing.
