Anishnaabe writer, broadcaster and current Chair of the Canada Council for the Arts, Jesse Wente is in conversation with TIFA Director, Roland Gulliver on the flawed concept of reconciliation. How do we move toward building a respectful relationship between the nation of Canada and Indigenous peoples? Through an examination of Wente’s new book, Unreconciled, part memoir and part manifesto, the book revisits experiences from Wente’s youth in Toronto and what it means to be a modern Indigenous person in a society that is still overwhelmingly colonial in its attitudes and institutions. An essential read, and an essential watch.
