Celebrate the launch of bestselling author Melodie Campbell’s The Merry Widow Murders at MOTIVE in conversation with Maureen Jennings. Dubbed the “Queen of Comedy” by the Toronto Sun, Campbell has penned 16 novels and 60 short stories. Her latest novel The Merry Widow Murders, follows Lady Lucy Revelstoke, the unconventional widow of a young British lord, having come a long way from her roots as the daughter of a Canadian mobster. When a dead body is discovered in Lucy’s stateroom on the first night of her ocean liner voyage across the Atlantic, Lucy must do everything in her power to find the murderer before they look too deeply into her past.

A cash bar will be open at this event, as well as grazing station with cheese, crackers and charcuterie items.

Called the “Queen of Comedy" by the Toronto Sun, Melodie Campbell was also named the “Canadian literary heir to Donald Westlake” by Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine. Winner of 10 awards, including The Derringer (US) and the Crime Writers of Canada Award of Excellence, she has multiple bestsellers, and was featured in USA Today. Her publications include over 100 comedy credits, 16 novels and 60 short stories, but she’s best known for The Goddaughter mob caper series. Campbell lives in Burlington, Ontario.

Maureen Jennings was born in the UK. Best known for the Detective Murdoch books, which have been adapted into the long-running television series, Murdoch Mysteries; she is also the author of the Tom Tyler and Christine Morris series. Her books have been translated into many other languages, including Polish, Korean, French, German, Italian and Czech.
