Come join us at The Theatre Centre Café for the launch of Gwendolyn and the Light (Abrams Books), a picture book written by Susan Yoon and illustrated by Audrey Helen Weber.

Meet Audrey and Susan, hear about their creative process, get your book signed, mingle, eat cake, make new friends, and enjoy a fun evening celebrating this magical story about friendship. The conversation will be moderated by fellow author and illustrator, Suharu Ogawa. Books will be sold at the event by Type Books. Everyone is welcome! See you there!


Toronto Lit Up is a multi-year initiative, started in 2016 by the Toronto International Festival of Authors and the Toronto Arts Council, to spotlight Toronto writers and empower local artists with career-building opportunities. Between April 2016 and March 2024, Toronto Lit Up has presented over 200 events featuring over 250 Toronto authors and illustrators. Toronto Lit Up book launches take place throughout the year at venues across the city. Susan Yoon draws inspiration from her family and friends, as well as small creatures and life’s quirky details. She is the author of Waiting for Tomorrow, and her essays have appeared in The Globe and Mail and The New York Times.

Audrey Helen Weber explores visual storytelling through paintings, comics, zines, and sculpture. Audrey’s work has been featured in numerous publications, including the New York Times and The New Yorker.
