Surviving the Times: Colin Barrett & A.L. Kennedy
September 26 at 8:30pm
His latest blistering collection of short stories, Homesickness, is already receiving rave reviews from the likes of the New York Times, and sees Toronto-based Irish author Colin Barrett showcasing his observant eye and darkly funny style through eight character-driven stories exploring ordinary, difficult, working-class lives. TIFA is delighted to welcome back Costa Book Award-winning British author A.L. Kennedy, who will present her new collection of stories, We Are Attempting to Survive Our Time. Caustic and unsparing, the collection is a close examination of human relationships as people wrestle with the lives they have been given and the times spinning out around them. Join both authors as they discuss their raw, brilliant and unforgettable characters and how they convey such depth into vivid, compact stories.
