Join Canadian writer, TV producer and songwriter Perry Chafe for a lively conversation and east coast celebration of his new book, Closer By Sea (Simon & Schuster Canada). The author will be joined by long-time creative collaborator, and fellow Newfoundlander, Allan Hawco (Republic of Doyle).
Part coming-of-age story, part mystery and part thriller, Closer by Sea is a page-turning and powerful novel about family, friendship and community set at a pivotal time in modern Newfoundland history. Chafe will discuss the new book through themes of childhood bonds, the awakening of adult experience, and the significant role that place serves in our lives.
This dual interview and kitchen party-style jam session will start in your seat but have you dancing on your feet in no time. The evening will be rounded out with live music from Maureen Ennis (The Ennis Sisters) and other special surprise guests, and refreshments.
