Set to be a literary highlight of the year, bestselling British author Ian McEwan makes his only Canadian appearance to launch his latest novel, Lessons, an epic and intimate tale of one man’s life that spans decades, from the Suez Crisis to the Cuban Missile Crisis, the fall of the Berlin Wall to the pandemic today. McEwan gives us a protagonist who has often let history control his life, but who also struggles against it, and searches for ways to cope with the things he’s lost. McEwan is a well-versed and award-winning storyteller, with 17 novels and two short story collections published to his name. His big screen adaptations include Atonement and On Chesil Beach.
