Jackleen Hanna (Pen name Jackleen Salam) is an award-winning poet who has published five poetry collections and a book of essays and interviews. She values freedom in all its forms, which is reflected in her writings: poetry, short stories, and articles. Jackleen Studied Electrical Engineering in Syria, at Aleppo University. Then, in 1997 she emigrated to Canada. She is a member of the Writers in Exile Group and is a member of The Writer’s Union of Canada and PEN Canada. Jackleen also used to be a freelance reporter for Radio Monte-Carlo from France, and BBC Arabic, among others. She participated in cultural events and readings and has been a guest speaker at schools and universities in Ontario.
