Raised in the UK and Canada, Zenia Wadhwani grew up surrounded by books, inspiring in her, a deep love of reading and storytelling. Few of her books however, reflected the richness of her own experiences, so she co-edited three anthologies spotlighting emerging South Asian writers. Years later, a global pandemic, an approaching milestone birthday and a longing to see more diversity, this time on children’s bookshelves, inspired her to write her debut picture book, ‘Twas the Night Before Diwali (2020). That was followed by Once Upon A Sari (2024) and she’s continuing her storytelling journey with the upcoming Fly in the Chai (2026).
