Saeed Jadid was born in Bangladesh and earned a bachelor’s degree in surgery and medicine from the University of Chittagong. He is the past editor of Journal of Health Sciences and Mrittika (a literary journal in Bengali) and has published a collection of poems, Nibedita Pongtimala, in Bengali. He is a researcher of human history and translator with special interest in the history of Africa. Recently, he translated Lawrence Hill’s The Book of Negroes into Bengali.
