Bio

Nicole Winstanley is the President and Publisher of Simon & Schuster Canada, a global leader in general interest publishing, where she oversees all publishing and operations across Canada. Prior to her appointment, Nicole served as Publisher of Penguin Canada and Vice President of Penguin Random House Canada. During her time at Penguin Canada, Nicole published a strong list of Canadian books and authors, including Run Towards the Danger by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Sarah Polley, Bunny by Amazon Canada First Novel Award winner Mona Awad, The Strangers by the Atwood Gibson Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize winner Katherena Vermette, The Maid, the unstoppable international bestseller by Nita Prose, “Good Morning America” pick The Push by Ashley Audrain, Two Trees Make a Forest by Hilary Weston, Writers’ Trust Prize winner for Nonfiction winner Jessica J. Lee, and numerous works by international bestselling author Guy Gavriel Kay. She also published internationally celebrated talents, including Arundhati Roy, Zadie Smith, Khaled Hosseini, NoViolet Bulawayo, Sarah Winman, Helen Oyeyemi, Stieg Larsson, Deborah Levy, John le Carré, Aleksandar Hemon and Ali Smith. Prior to Penguin Random House Canada, Nicole was Director of International Rights at Westwood Creative Artists. She is a graduate of The University of Western Ontario and Toronto Metropolitan University.
