Michel Fais is a Greek novelist, short story writer, playwright, screenwriter, literary critic and teacher of creative writing. For the collection From the Same Glass and Other Stories Fais was awarded the 2000 Greek State Short Story Literature Prize. His latest novel, The Researcher was awarded the Best Novel Prize by the highly-respected literary magazine O Anagnostis. Books of his have been translated into English, French, German, Spanish, Romanian, etc. More recently, his two most acclaimed novellas, Aegypius monachus and Lady Cortisol, appeared in English translation under the title Mechanisms of Loss.
