Maev Beaty is a theatre-maker, parent and activist, and critically-acclaimed stage, screen and voice artist. She has originated roles in two dozen Canadian Premieres, and played contemporary and classic lead roles at the Stratford Festival for eight seasons and in theatres across the country including Soulpepper, Tarragon, the Globe, Canadian Stage and La Mama in NYC. Maev is a Toronto Theatre Critics’ Award winner, multiple Dora Award winner and fourteen-time nominee in both performance and writing, referred to as “the excellent Maev Beaty” by the New York Times. Her play, a co-written confessional with Hannah Moscovitch and Ann-Marie Kerr Secret Life of a Mother touches dark and difficult truths of miscarriage, labour and postpartum parenting. She is the co-founder of Got Your Back, a former CAEA Equity Council member and a Steering Committee member of Balancing Act. Her film debut (Mouthpiece) was a Special Presentations Opening Film at 2019 TIFF and she was recently featured in Ari Aster’s Beau Is Afraid. www.maevbeaty.com.
