Bio

Kamel Riahi is a novelist, journalist, broadcaster, human rights activist, and guest lecturer at University of Toronto.  He is the author of four novels, including The Scalpel, and 10 other books of non-fiction and critic. Riahi initiated and founded House of Novel. He runs workshops in creative writing, journalistic and critical writing in Tunisia and the Arab world.

Award Winning: Ibn Battuta Prize for Diary in 2018; Academia Prize for best Tunisian cultural TV show; Hay Festival Prize for the 39 best Arab writers; Comar d’or Prize for best Tunisian novel 2007; the only Tunisian writer included at Beirut 39, 2009; and selected as one of the 5 best writers under 40 for the IPAF, 2010.
