Hayah Imam and Dilki Jagoda

Hayah Imam and Dilki Jagoda are local Toronto poets, who write about their intersectional experiences being South Asian women in North America. Hayah and Dilki discovered spoken word in high school where they curated and performed pieces about their experiences and thoughts about the world. The art form quickly became a form of self expression for the two and granted them a voice in a space they immediately felt connected to. Recently, Hayah and Dilki performed in their first slam poetry contest at the Toronto International Festival of Authors and received first place for their piece entitled ‘What time is it Mister Wolf?’. Their work has appeared in open-mic showcases for Stay Woke and Toronto Poetry Slam.
