Akwasi Owusu-Bempah

Bio

Akwasi Owusu-Bempah is a faculty member in the Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto and a Senior Fellow at Massey College. His research examines the intersections of race, crime and criminal justice, with a particular focus in the area of policing. Akwasi work has appeared in both Canadian and international media outlets and he is often called upon to provide his expertise to public and private sector organizations. His first academic book Race, Ethnicity, Crime and Justice will be published by Routledge in early 2020. He is currently working on a second book for popular consumption.
