This talk given by forensic toxicologist, Dr. Karen Woodall dives into the evolution of Ontario’s opioid crisis, and how it ties into criminal behaviour, covering illegal distribution, contraband use in prison, and homicide. Dr. Woodall is an associate professor at the University of Toronto, has been an active scientist for the Centre for Forensic Sciences, and is frequently called as an expert witness in toxicology. She has also been a consultant on previous literary works. Be sure to bring your questions, as this is a great opportunity for any author to gather inspiration for their next book!

This lecture is appropriate for ages 16 and up.

Dr. Karen Woodall is an Associate Professor and Forensic Toxicologist within the Forensic Science Program at the University of Toronto. She graduated in 1996 from the University of Bradford, UK with a Ph.D.
