About

From journalist Karen Bartlett comes a new book on the never-before-told story of the Afghan women judges who fought for justice, and to escape the Taliban. Bartlett was able to contact many of the women involved, those who fled the country and those who didn’t. Join the author for a conversation on Escape from Kabul: The Afghan Women Judges Who Fled the Taliban and Those They Left Behind, exploring women’s rights and how the West abandoned Afghani women in their time of need.

Bartlett will be joined by Justice Mona Lynch, who is on the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia and played a huge part in the evacuation effort, and Justice Deena Baltman, Superior Court of Justice Ontario who has been one of the Canadian partner judges.

Moderated by Jamaluddin AramĀ
