Our Critical Conversations series brings authors and experts together to examine the culture and politics that shape the world around us and the books we read. In this event, panelists Kelly Bergstrom and Kristi Lee (creator, narrator and executive producer of Canadian True Crime podcast) will explore the cultural phenomenon of true crime and examine why many of us are so fascinated by it. Learn about the body’s physical and psychological response to true crime and what it means for the way it’s reported on and consumed.

Kristi Lee is the principal writer, narrator and producer of Canadian True Crime, a podcast that unravels and analyzes thought-provoking crime cases through immersive audio storytelling. Kristi started the podcast as a personal creative passion project several years after immigrating from Australia in 2009, and to her surprise, it soon gained an audience.
