About

Join international authors Sibylle Grimbert and Michel Nieva in conversation as they approach our contemporary climate crisis through fictional lenses of the past and the future. Award-winning French novelist, Grimbert’s The Last of Its Kind is translated into English for the first time and tells the story of a young geologist in 19th century Iceland and his anatomical obsession with a wounded bird. Nieva’s atmospheric debut, Dengue Boy dives into a cyberpunk climate catastrophe of 2272 and a young man in a Kafka-esque world searching for meaning in a world devoid of kindness. These atmospheric novels, ask us to consider whether humanity has played a part in the death of the world we know.
