Dr. Christina Lamparter is an Assistant Professor and Forensic Toxicologist within the Institute of Forensic Science at the University of Toronto Mississauga. After obtaining a M.Sc. in Biochemistry and Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology at Queen’s University, she spent over 9 years as a Forensic Toxicologist with the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Ontario where she directed testing for drugs, alcohol, and poisons in biological specimens, and provided expert testimony for criminal and non-criminal cases including drug trafficking, homicide, sexual assault, and impaired driving. Her research focuses on addressing the analytical and interpretive challenges associated with novel and emerging psychoactive substances in the unregulated drug market. She has numerous collaborative partnerships with forensic laboratories and other government agencies that enable the program to advance translational research and support evidence-based responses to these emerging substances.
