Richard Flanagan is the author of five previous novels: Death of a River Guide, The Sound of One Hand Clapping, Gould’s Book of Fish, The Unknown Terrorist and Wanting. All have received numerous honours and have been published in 26 countries. Flanagan has also written and directed feature films, including co-writing Baz Luhrmann’s Australia. He presents his 2014 Man Booker Prize-winning novel, The Narrow Road to the Deep North, a magisterial tale of love and war that traces the life of one man from World War II to the present.
