Rachel Kushner

Rachel Kushner earned her MFA in creative writing from Columbia University in 2000. She is the author of the New York Times bestseller Telex from Cuba, which won the California Book Award. Kushner’s fiction and essays have appeared in various publications, including The New York Times, The Paris Review and Bookforum. She is a 2013 Guggenheim Fellow. Kushner presents her most recent novel, The Flamethrowers, in which life and art begin to blur for young Reno when she moves to New York City during the 1970s and begins a risky affair with a local artist.
