Gonçalo M. Tavares

Gonçalo M. Tavares was born in Luanda, Angola. He spent his childhood in in northern Portugal and nowadays teaches Theory of Science at a university in Lisbon. Tavares is one of the most translated and awarded European writers. His unusual books have been published in more than 50 countries. The New Yorker stated, “Gonçalo M. Tavares is a writer who is unlike any you’ve read before. And he has a gift—like Flann O’Brien or Kafka or Beckett—for revealing the ways in which logic can be as faithful a servant of madness as of reason.”
