Over 27 years as host of “Writers & Company” on CBC Radio, Eleanor Wachtel has earned a reputation as of the world’s best interviewers. In 2011, “Writers & Company”won a silver medal at the prestigious New York Festivals International Radio Awards. Eleanor herself has earned numerous accolades, including nine honorary degrees from universities across Canada. In 2004, she was appointed Member of the Order of Canada and in 2014, she was promoted to Officer of the Order of Canada. Eleanor was born and raised in Montreal, where she studied English literature at McGill University. Over her 40 years in broadcasting, she has dedicated her career to telling the stories of those who tell stories, engaging the world’s best and most influential artists in intimate, illuminating conversations.
