Bernice Eisenstein

Bernice Eisenstein’s highly acclaimed graphic memoir, I Was a Child of Holocaust Survivors, was translated into 10 languages and won a National Jewish Book Award. Her illustrations have appeared in a variety of Canadian publications, and her artwork has been displayed at exhibitions in Europe and the United States. Eisenstein presents Correspondences, a beautifully produced accordion book containing her illustrations alongside a book-length poem by acclaimed novelist and poet Anne Michaels. Eisenstein’s luminous portraits of 20th-century writers and thinkers join Michaels’ poetry in a dialogue that can be read in any direction and any order.
