Alison Wearing‘s first book was the bestselling, internationally acclaimed travel memoir Honeymoon in Purdah: An Iranian Journey. Along with writing, she dedicates herself to music, dance, theatre and her award-winning one-woman shows. Her stories and articles have appeared in a number of publications, and she is the recipient of a National Magazine Award Gold Medal, among other accolades. Wearing presents Confessions of a Fairy’s Daughter, a memoir about growing up with a gay father in a small Ontario town in the 1970s.
