Caroline Shields head shot

Caroline Shields is the Assistant Curator of European Art at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). She is currently organizing an exhibition titled Impressionism in the Age of Industry: Monet, Pissarro and more, which will open at the AGO on February 16, 2019. Recently, Caroline was involved with the reinstallation of the Gallery’s European collection, where three paintings by Claude Monet are now on view. Prior to joining the AGO she earned her doctorate in nineteenth-century French art history from the University of Maryland and held positions at museums in Washington D.C., Boston, and Paris.
