Ontario Touring Programme

The Toronto International Festival of Authors brings the world’s most exciting contemporary writers to communities across Ontario with the Lit ON Tour programme.

Since 2006, Lit ON Tour has continued to deepen ties with community organizations, book stores, libraries and educational institutions across the province. Through public readings, discussions, master classes and book signings, Lit On Tour facilitates meaningful dialogue between book lovers and writers from around the world and in our own backyard. The programme gives participants the chance to take part in enriching activities that might not otherwise be available in their region, while presenting authors and publishers a unique opportunity to reach new audiences.

As a healthcare measure to help reduce the spread of Covid-19, the Lit ON Tour programme has been suspended for the 2020-2021 touring seasons. We look forward to resuming this popular programme once it can be done safely.

Lit on Tour - Kim Fu and Wendy O'BrienWendy O’Brien interviewing author Kim Fu at the Assembly Hall as part of By The Lake Book Club.

“[Lit ON Tour] is a really good opportunity for one on one conversations, during the signings, between reader and writer. One of the most moving comments any reader had made to me happened in Orillia and I will never forget it. A reader told me one sentence out of my book, and he said, ‘I travelled all the way here to meet the person who wrote that sentence.’ That made me cry.”
