Travelling to the Stars: Dr. Dave Williams
October 01 at 2:30pm
Is the human body built for Mars? Will interstellar travel ever be possible? What can studies on Earth and in space tell us about planetary exploration? Astronaut Dr. Dave Williams is here to answer all of your burning questions about space travel, and the daunting challenges – both human and technological – that we will need to overcome to reach the next frontier. Williams’ fascinating book Why Am I Taller?: What Happens to an Astronaut’s Body in Space, co-written with Ph.D. Elizabeth Howell, focuses on how trips to space may affect the human body, from cognition and DNA expression to studies on how the human body will behave in “partial gravity.” Strap in – this event is your passport to the stars!
