Bestselling Métis author Katherena Vermette presents The Strangers, a searing follow up to The Break, which explores themes of race, class, inherited trauma and the strength of matrilineal bonds. This intergenerational saga examines how connected we are, even when forced apart by powers out of our control. Joining Vermette in conversation, author Brian Thomas Isaac introduces his debut novel, All the Quiet Places, a story about what can happen when every adult in a person’s life has been affected by colonialism. The novel tells of the acute separation from culture that can occur even at home in a loved familiar landscape.
