The Past That Haunts: Ramona Emerson & Johana Gustawsson
June 03 at 1:30pm
The past meets the present in new books by Diné author and filmmaker Romana Emerson and “Queen of French Noir” Johana Gustawsson. Emerson’s Shutter follows Rita, a forensic photographer in New Mexico who has become a portal for traumatized spirits to connect with the living. Gustawsson’s The Bleeding is a haunting novel that connects the lives of three women from 1899, 1949 and 2002 through discoveries involving black magic, secret societies and spiritism.
