Presenting two highly anticipated new memoirs are bestselling authors Cody Caetano and Isaac Fitzgerald. Winner of the 2020 Indigenous Voices Award, Caetano’s Half-Bads in White Regalia captures the chaos, wonder, warmth and humour of coming of age, amongst tangled family history. Fitzgerald, a frequent contributor to The Today Show and Buzzfeed Books editor, presents the memoir-in-essays Dirtbag, Massachusetts details a childhood that moves at breakneck speed from safety to violence, and a lifelong battle through trauma to self-understanding and acceptance.

Featured Authors

Isaac Fitzgerald appears frequently on The Today Show and is the author of the bestselling children's book How to Be a Pirate as well as the co-author of Pen & Ink and Knives & Ink (winner of an IACP Award). His writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Guardian, the Best American Nonrequired Reading, and numerous other publications. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Cody Caetano is a writer of Anishinaabe and Portuguese descent and an off-reserve member of Pinaymootang First Nation. He has an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Toronto, where he wrote this memoir under the mentorship of Lee Maracle. Excerpts of Half-Bads in White Regalia earned him a 2020 Indigenous Voices Award for Unpublished Prose.

Emily Donaldson is a book critic and editor whose writing has appeared in numerous publications, including the Globe and Mail, Maclean's, the Toronto Starthe National Post, the Walrus, and Quill and QuireShe was editor of Best Canadian Essays 2019 (Biblioasis), and is current editor of Canadian Notes & Queries, the country's oldest magazine of literary criticism. Her writing has been nominated for Governor General’s and National Magazine awards. Originally from Montreal, she lives in Toronto with her husband and two sons.
