Ainissa Ramirez is a materials scientist and sought-after public speaker and science communicator. A Brown and Stanford graduate, she has worked as a research scientist at Bell Labs and held academic positions at Yale University and MIT. She has written for Time, Scientific American, the American Scientist and Forbes, and makes regular appearances on PBS's SciTech Now.

Ziya Tong 
Award-winning broadcaster Ziya Tong is best known as the anchor of Daily Planet, Discovery Channel’s flagship science program. Her first book The Reality Bubble was shortlisted for the RBC Taylor Prize in 2020 and earned praise from luminaries including Naomi Klein and David Suzuki who call Tong’s book “required reading for all who care about what we are doing to the planet.” In the spring of 2019, Ziya participated in CBC’s annual battle of the books. After a national four-day debate, she won Canada Reads for the defence of Max Eisen’s holocaust memoir.
