Curated by Britta B., an award-winning artist, spoken word poet and performer; Soundtracks and Stanzas showcases Black Canadian poets, including Thyuntamable1, Shahaddah Jack and Testament, who will take us on a journey beyond the bounds of music and language.

Featured Authors

Britta Badour, better known as Britta B., is an award-winning artist, public speaker, and poet living in Toronto. She is the recipient of the Breakthrough Artist Award (Toronto Arts Foundation, 2021) and Lecturer of the Year (COCA, 2021). Britta holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Guelph and teaches spoken word performance at Seneca College.

Thyuntamable1 is a personal development leader, self-published author, and poet. Born on November 11, 1992, the author, better known as KP Parker, began writing poetry in 2007. In 2010, Thyuntamable1 turned the craft of writing into a career, developing their style and brand name. In 2015, the author debuted with a poetry book, NAKEDINTHEDARK: Trilogy Book I. Since then, Thyuntamable1 has self-published two other books; Leaves Fall In May: Trilogy Book II (2019) and their very first literary fiction novel And So It Begins. One Four Three. (2021).

Matthew-Ray Jones also known as “Testament” is a connoisseur of anything and everything involving words. From poetry, spoken word and emceeing to facilitating, hosting and keynoting, Testament has been using his natural speaking abilities to inspire audiences for over 15 years. Testament has performed and taught coast to coast nationally and internationally. He has recorded three albums to date and shared stages with Naughty by Nature, Biz Markie, Kardinal Official and more. He has made numerous radio and television appearances including Much Music and MTV. A father, an artist, entrepreneur and revolutionary, Testament uses his passion for words, art and life to motivate, inspire and lead. He trusts in the values of peace, love and unity as his guiding principles as he continues to spread his message all across the world.
