American author Kellye Garrett (Like a Sister) and Icelandic author Lilja Sigurðardóttir (Cold As Hell, translated by Quentin Bates) salute sisterhood in their twisty and character-driven new crime novels. Garrett introduces new representation for Black heroines with Lena Scott, a witty woman on a mission to discover who murdered her TV-star sister. Winner of Best Icelandic Crime Novel of the Year, Sigurðardóttir launches a new series featuring Áróra, a woman returning home to Iceland in search for her estranged and missing sister, who uncovers unimaginable dark places and revelries along the way.

Kellye Garrett is the author of Like a Sister—an Edgar nominee for Best Novel, Anthony Award winner for Best Hardcover Mystery and Lefty Award winner for Best Mystery—as well as Hollywood Homicide, which won Agatha, Anthony, Lefty and Independent Publisher “IPPY” awards for Best First Novel and was named one of Time's 100 Best Mystery and Thriller Books of All Time and BookBub’s Top 100 Crime Novels of All Time, and Hollywood Ending, which was nominated for both Anthony and Lefty awards. Garrett spent eight years working in Hollywood, including a stint writing for Cold Case. She is a New Jersey native, a cofounder of Crime Writers of Color and a former board member of Sisters in Crime.

Icelandic crime-writer Lilja Sigurðardóttir was born in the town of Akranes in 1972 and raised in Mexico, Sweden, Spain and Iceland. An award-winning playwright, Lilja has written four crime novels, with Snare, her English debut shortlisting for the CWA International Dagger and hitting bestseller lists worldwide. Trap soon followed suit, with the third in the trilogy Cage winning the Best Icelandic Crime Novel of the Year, and was a Guardian Book of the Year. Lilja’s standalone Betrayal, was shortlisted for the Glass Key Award for Best Nordic Crime Novel. The film rights have been bought by Palomar Pictures in California. Lilja is also an award-winning screenwriter in her native Iceland. She lives in Reykjavík with her partner. Lilja Sigurðardóttir’s Festival appearance is generously supported by Icelandic Literature Centre.
