Irish-America author Colum McCann brings us Apeirogon, the eagerly awaited follow up to his 2009 international success, Let the Great World Spin, in 2009. Longlisted for the 2020 Booker Prize, Apeirogon accounts the real-life story of an unlikely friendship between two men in conflict. A Palestinian and an Israeli are brought together by shared traumas, and joint motivation to transform their grief into a weapon for peace. McCann will speak to the process of uncovering these men’s complex and moving stories, and how his unprecedented access to their lives has translated around the world.

Colum McCann is the author of five novels and two-story collections. His fiction has been published in over 30 languages and has appeared in the New Yorker, the Atlantic Monthly and more. Let the Great World Spin won the National Book Award for Fiction and the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. He has won the Rooney Prize, the Hennessy Award for Irish Literature and the Hughes & Hughes Novel of the Year. His short film Everything in This Country Must was nominated for an Oscar. McCann lives in New York and teaches in the MFA program at Hunter College.

Randy Boyagoda is the author of six books, including the novels Governor of the Northern Province, Beggar’s Feast, and Original Prin. His work has been nominated for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, IMPAC Dublin Literary Prize, and named a Globe and Mail Best Book of the year and New York Times Book Review Editor’s Choice. An essayist, book critic and radio columnist, he is a professor of English at the University of Toronto, where he lives with his wife and their four daughters.
