Run Towards the Danger: Sarah Polley
September 30 at 6pm
Academy Award-nominated Canadian screenwriter, director and actor Sarah Polley received an Oscar nomination for the screenplay Away from Her, her feature-length directorial debut, adapted from the Alice Munro story “The Bear Came Over the Mountain.” Polley went on to nurture a thrilling, successful career in film, with her next screenwriting and directorial project – the eagerly anticipated film adaptation of Miriam Toews’ acclaimed 2018 novel Women Talking – set for release this December. We are excited to welcome Polley to the TIFA stage to present her visceral collection of personal essays, Run Towards the Danger. The collection explores what it is to live in a constant state of becoming, learning and changing in the aftermath of suffering a traumatic concussion. Don’t miss what is sure to be an inspiring, empowering conversation.
