These relationship questions and more are explored in Shani Mootoo’s latest novel, Polar Vortex, longlisted for the 2020 Scotiabank Giller Prize, and RBC Bronwen Wallace Award winner Noor Naga’s bracing debut, Washes, Prays. Mootoo suggests that some secrets never die, when a couple’s move to the countryside fails to leave their pasts behind. Noor’s novel-in-verse chronicles the story of a young woman’s crisis of faith when she begins a romantic relationship with a married man. Join these authors to learn about their works and what knowing the people we love most can teach us about ourselves.
