About

Get ready for an enlightening event with two trailblazing Sinclairs! Senator Murray Sinclair, a pioneering figure in justice and reconciliation, offers a unique oral history in Who We Are, blending traditional storytelling with his experiences as a judge and Truth and Reconciliation Commission Chair. Meanwhile, Niigaan Sinclair’s debut collection, Wînipêk, dives into Winnipeg’s complex role in reconciliation, mixing powerful insights on Indigenous heritage and the harsh realities of colonialism. Join us as they discuss about their books, share their personal journeys and explore resilience, justice and the search for truth.

The Festival of Indigenous Stories is a two-day celebration with Indigenous writers, artists and storytellers taking centre stage for conversations, readings, performances and activities on the shores of Lake Ontario.
