Celebrate and explore some of today’s best Canadian children’s authors and illustrators!

A little boy spends the weekend at his dad’s new apartment in this poignant, hopeful picture book about how things change when parents separate — and the important things that stay the same. Strikingly illustrated in Frank Viva’s signature style, author Naseem Hrab captures the boy’s new reality of having two homes, with an important reminder that even if he and his dad can’t always be together, the boy is loved.

Tune in for a family-friendly reading from Weekend Dad by Naseem Hrab, as part of TIFA’s exclusive event series spotlighting the finalists for the 2020 GGBooks Young People’s Literature categories. The GGBooks Literary Awards winners will be announced on June 1.

Recommended for ages 4–7.

This event is organized in collaboration with the Canada Council for the Arts to celebrate the Governor General’s Literary Awards.
