About
In Saad T. Farooqi‘s White World, the protagonist finds himself in the center of a civil war set in Pakistan, 2083 AD, taking a stand against the army, the mob, and Pakistan itself. In Jacob Wren‘s Dry Your Tears to Perfect Your Aim, a depressed writer obsessed that his tax dollars help to pay for foreign wars visits a war zone and stumbles into a small strip of land that’s being reimagined as a grassroots, feminist, egalitarian utopia. While the novels are situated in vastly different contexts, they both undertake a profound exploration of war and humanity, offering an especially interesting background for this conversation.
