The last two years may have felt a little like living in a dystopian novel so how do writers go about world-building and creating alternate existences for their young protagonists? One way to find out is to join authors Wab Kinew and Kenneth Oppel for an insightful conversation about their thrilling new adventures. In Wab’s Walking in Two Worlds, shy Indigenous teen Bugz is caught between real life on the Rez and her virtual one in a massive multiplayer video game universe – then those two worlds collide. In Thrive, the third and final book of Kenneth’s Overthrow series, an alien invasion on Earth is imminent, but as Anaya, Petra and Seth find out, it may be harder than they thought to agree on a plan. There’s also a live audience Q&A.

Recommended for ages ten and up.
