TIFA is proud to partner with the Canadian Children’s Book Centre (CCBC) to present the 2020 CCBC Book Awards, celebrating the best Canadian books for young people, live from Harbourfront Centre. The winners for the English-language awards will be announced in this live broadcast of the much-anticipated event in the world of Canadian books for young people.

This year’s award ceremony will be hosted by Tony Kim, co-host of CBC Kids Studio K. The event will celebrate the winners and finalists for:

About Tony Kim

Tony is a lovable and hilarious nerd hailing from Vancouver. In addition to being a star improviser, Tony has a number of acting credits to his name. Tony brings with him a variety of musical talents including vocals, rap, piano, and clarinet. He is always at the ready to defend his title as Comic Book Nerd Champ, in either English or Vietnamese. His warm, youthful energy and comfort on camera make Tony feel like an instant friend.

Tony Kim is an actor/entertainer from the small town of Vancouver, British Columbia. He is now based in the slightly larger town of Toronto, Ontario with his partner and the best cat in the world. In addition to being a star improviser, Tony has a number of acting credits to his name. In 2019, Tony lent his voice to bring alive the character of Jonathan in the audiobook version of YA sensation We Contain Multitudes by Sarah Henstra. Currently, he is a host on CBC Kids and is excited to be returning as the Master of Ceremonies for the 2021 CCBC Book Awards.
