In Blood Grove, legendary author Walter Mosley presents a new mystery for Easy Rawlins fans. In the heat of 1969, the Black private detective finds himself dealing with trouble at work and at home. The iconic investigator must lean on his friends for help as he navigates Californian hippies, tycoons, sociopaths and grifters in pursuit of solving a confusing case for a white Vietnam veteran, while also trying to come to terms with a surprising family reunion. This enlightening virtual conversation on writing mysteries and creating iconic characters will be led by fellow American crime writer Joe Ide (IQ).

Walter Mosley is one of America's most celebrated and beloved writers. A Grand Master of the Mystery Writers of America, he has won numerous awards, including the Anisfield-Wolf Award, a Grammy, a PEN USA's Lifetime Achievement Award and several NAACP Image Awards. His books have been translated into more than 20 languages. His short fiction has appeared in many publications, including The New Yorker, GQ and Esquire, and his nonfiction has been published in The New York Times Book Review, The New York Times Magazine and Newsweek. He is also the author of Down the River unto the Sea. He lives in New York City.

Joe Ide grew up in South Central Los Angeles and currently lives in Santa Monica, California. His IQ series has won the Anthony, Shamus and Macavity Awards, and been nominated for the Edgar, Barry, CWA New Blood Dagger and Strand Book Critics Awards. The IQ books are currently in development as an original TV series.
